Long Overdue Update…

Wow, so much has happened since I last posted an update, it’s hard to even know what to say. I had a friend this past weekend mention he had gone on my website to see what races I was doing, only to find it hadn’t been updated for months. I have been racing, only there has been so much else going on I haven’t taken the time to write anything about it any of it…

I’m going to keep this update brief and only cover a couple of things. The first would be that I moved from Columbia Missouri to Farmington Missouri August 25th and started a new job working for USA Drug. I am the “IT Manager” which is kind of a misnomer since I’m the only IT guy, but they are adding stores continually and our IT staff could double at some point in the near future. My primary responsibility is making sure approximately 100 or so PCs are up and running. Attached to about 1/4 of these PCs are scanners to scan prescriptions, printers to print labels with, and bar code scanners. There are four locations within 20 or so miles from my office and those are the stores I’m at mostly, however there are also two remote locations I will have to travel to occasionally, Ellisville, Mississippi and somewhere up in Minnesota where I have yet to go…

The other major change in my life is Nikki and I have ended our dating relationship. I think both of us had been fighting to keep our relationship afloat for months, all the while knowing that we probably weren’t meant to be together. We were both too stubborn to let things end without a fight, but eventually we couldn’t keep it together any longer. I only wish her the best and future happiness, except in one thing, I still don’t want her to be faster than me in a triathlon…

Between the new job, moving to Farmington, and breaking up with Nikki, I still somehow managed to have raced two 5ks (won one in Mississippi), completed a half Ironman, and raced two sprint triathlons. Needless to say, all this activity has left me a little drained and a little low on my desire to train. My trip to Richmond VA for the Long Course Duathlon World Championships is still on, however for me it won’t be a race but rather a vacation and an experience! I’ll be sure to write about it here, unlike half the races I’ve done this year… :(
